What Is Robert Perry Concerned About If Not This?

Today I counted 74 plastic bottles and aluminum cans floating inside the storm drain in the northwest corner of the City Hall Municipal Parking Lot.  Of course, there's all sorts of other trash in there, too, and that may be just in the top layer.  This does not seem to be a concern for our DPW Superintendent Robert Perry.

At least two years ago, I sent Mr. Perry a similar picture of the garbage in this very same storm drain.  Nothing has been done to remove the litter since then.  There is a wide opening at the curb that will easily accept containers large and small regularly making their way to the drain in a rainstorm much like today's.  This also does not seem to be a concern of Mr. Perry's.

You would think that DPW would inspect and clean out each storm drain in the city more regularly than every two years, wouldn't you?  How about every 6 months?  That is, of course, if garbage in our sewer system is a problem.  Maybe it's not a problem, but I'm pretty sure that Mr. Perry regularly attempts to let us know at council meetings that it is.

I've said it before, but I think that it bears repeating.  Robert Perry, our DPW Superintendent, is paid over $114,000 a year, he has no office in City Hall, he can rarely be found there, and he seems to be a slob.
