Oh, The Ugly Irony!

Welcome to Hudson, where anything goes!
Let me try to get this straight!

For 3 or 4 weeks the City of Hudson is unable or unwilling to remove a mentally unstable person and all his junk on someone else's private property along Warren Street (it often spilling into the sidewalk), while he runs up and down the sidewalk like a madman, making strange noises, behaving deranged, waving things and his fists, and frightening people.

But someone at a public meeting who asks too many questions and is considered "disruptive" is forced to leave a meeting and not allowed to ever return, with the Chief of Police actually removing some of my belongings, which she refused to return to me, treating me like a child.  All this after she refused to answer a question of mine regarding quality-of-life issues with the mentally disturbed, homeless and addicted people in the 7th Street Park that HPD seems to be comfortable ignoring.

Meanwhile, a seemingly unhinged person with an enormous pile of sprawling junk on Warren Street threatens me with a pole and chases me up the street.  And then threatens me a few days later once again.  And the cops do nothing about this person who is putting so many others on edge, too.  Of course, HPD doesn't remove one piece of his "belongings," do they?  No, because he's not being disruptive at all, and HPD might get sued if they touch his garbage or "artwork" and send it to a landfill where it belongs. What an embarrassing spectacle!

I walked into a nearby business yesterday and asked the owner if they had issues with the man squatting in front of the church.  She shook her head in frustration, saying, "We've called the police at least twice, but nothing happens.  He just comes back the next day."  They don't bother calling the police anymore, because they know it's a waste of time, and they are really disgusted by the situation.  Who wants to have this guy anywhere near their business with all his shit out there all day long, with him running up and down the sidewalk scaring customers?  Who wants to live near this and have to walk by it multiple times a day?  How is this acceptable and tolerated?

City Hall is perfectly fine with it, believe me.  Heck, Kamal probably thinks it's cute.  It's going to be real cute when this guy decides to turn violent after someone else takes exception to all his shit blocking the sidewalk or him behaving threateningly.

A HPD cop told me last week that Code Enforcement had looked into the situation and couldn't find any violations because it appeared the squatter was simply having a tag sale.  Case closed!

Tarped for the rain!
Gotta keep the belongings dry!
No code violation here!

Welcome To Hudson, The City of Two-Toned Streets

Our new two-tone Warren Street, still full of cracks.  It appears to be narrower, like some sort of brain teaser.  With two fresh strips of ...
