Galvan Cares! City Hall Cares, Too!

On Thursday, I had the fortune of seeing and walking around these bags full of garbage on the sidewalk of the 300 block of Columbia Street, gifts from the tenants of a Galvan-owned property.  The 5 bags (and any that may be added) will remain through the weekend and beyond, likely until Tuesday when DPW is scheduled to remove trash on the north side of the city.

Garbage and recycling put out after scheduled pickup days is not an uncommon code violation in Hudson, but it is especially common in front of 350 Columbia Street (and previously featured on HUDseen).  Neither Galvan, DPW nor the Code Enforcement Office continue to care.  Apparently, it doesn't matter and it likely never will - after all, it's just Columbia Street.  Can you imagine the city allowing the same obscene situation on a sidewalk or two along Warren Street?  What if everyone did this?

Even the Google maps picture of the property features a blue bag full of garbage out front!
