Sometime within the past few weeks, our DPW installed 2 new signs (including new poles) where no signs had existed, on Warren and on South 6th Street. The signs, both meant to prevent parking, were erected along yellowed curbs (and one already with a handicap parking symbol on the pavement) that any reasonable driver would recognize as NO PARKING ZONES. It's difficult to regard the signs as critical, or even necessary, but DPW (or Shane Bower, perhaps) felt they were needed.
Meanwhile, our DPW continues to ignore important but unreadable and disgusting signs on South 7th Street in the business district. Apparently, Robert Perry feels that these signs -- missing letters, missing entire words and covered in slime for years -- don't need replacing or any attention at all. They combine for a great look and are really helpful, aren't they? A city on the upswing and on the mend!!!
Another sign that something is amiss at City Hall! |
Is that slime mold? Is DPW trying for the zombie apocalypse look? |
You issued me a $25 parking ticket on Monday night for parking in a NO PARKING ZONE in front of a sign that has been unreadable for years? |
