So this is how Hudson stays afloat

Perhaps, you too, dear readers, have recently noticed this white mini-Cooper parked downtown around the area of Warren and 6th.  Besides being a cute little car, it catches my eye because it almost always has a HPD parking violation ticket on its windshield.  It is rare not to see a ticket on it.

The Mini, aka, cash cow

Anyone can utilize the City of Hudson Parking Bureau's on-line portal to view recent paid and unpaid tickets issued to their vehicle or anyone else's vehicle.  Just enter the license plate number.  A quick look at the Mini's recent history is startling.

During the month of November 2022, the Mini was issued 26 parking violation tickets in various parking spaces for either overnight wrong side parking or meter violations.  Many of those $10 and $15 tickets rose to $45 and $55 for late payment.  To settle all 26 of those November tickets, someone paid a total of $1,065 to the City of Hudson Parking Bureau.   The final 3 tickets of the month were issued on one day, the 29th of the month, for 2 meter violations and a wrong side overnight violation.  All 3 of those tickets were paid late, for a total of $145.

29 tickets were issued to the Mini in January, but not all of them have been paid yet.
