Galvan garbage |
These pictures were taken behind the apartment complex known as 227-235 State Street, owned by Galvan Asset Management. You may recall that a dumpster behind the complex killed a private sanitation worker this past October -- the dumpster that Galvan's tenants could properly dispose of their bags of trash and loose trash. A few weeks after the deadly accident, the dumpster disappeared and another one has not appeared since then.
Imagine if everyone in town found this type of behavior acceptable |
For close to 4 months, Galvan's tenants have had to place their trash, both bagged and loose, on the ground. The trash that is in the city's blue bags gets removed by DPW, the other stuff just sits and gets removed every few days, likely by a Galvan crew in a truck. This is clearly a code violation. Today's wind was spreading litter into the alley from the trash pile.
Imagine if everyone in town were allowed to do this |
Apparently this is acceptable to both Galvan and Hudson City Hall. It's not like DPW can't say they didn't notice it over the past few months -- it's right there for anyone to see. And smell. And step on. And vermin to get into (notice some bags have been torn into). And litter to be created.
