It has been nearly 4 months since I noticed this unmoved Ford Fusion parked on Prospect Avenue, between Rossman and Warren, and it has not received one $15 WRONG SIDE PARKING ticket from HPD the entire time. It has been 7 weeks since Police Chief Ed Moore confirmed to me that the Alternate Side overnight parking rule applies to Prospect between Rossman and Warren, yet the Fusion is still ignored every other night by Ed's HPD officers issuing $15 WRONG SIDE PARKING tickets all over the city.
Following Friday night's snowfall, the Fusion was in the way of the DPW plows, but HPD did not issue it a $15 WRONG SIDE PARKING ticket. Neither did HPD issue one last night, 48 hours later, when, ACCORDING TO OUR OWN POLICE CHIEF, it should have been issued a ticket. One of the purposes of the $15 tickets is, of course, to keep vehicles from parking in the way of the snowplows after snowfall. Rob Perry reminds us of this regularly at Council meetings, often with pictures of cars just like this Fusion, surrounded by snow the plow is unable to reach. Where is the real problem coming from?
