Both houses also have this in common: Code Enforcement long ago deemed them Dangerous and Unsafe, requiring Galvan to clean up their messes and get the houses code compliant, presumably so that someone might actually live in them someday in the not too distant future. The City of Hudson (primarily the Code Enforcement Department) doesn't care how long these buildings remain decaying, vacant eyesores, or how dangerous and unsafe they continue to be. It's quite possible that City Hall would just shrug their collective shoulders if both of these structures fell over or caught fire tonight. "We did our best," would be the response, no doubt.
Here are some pictures of what one sees when walking past Galvan's long-neglected eyesores (neglected by both Galvan and the city). Keep in mind that the city could do something about this, but it chooses not to.
