I Feel So Reassured. Don't You Too?

This is what I came across today on and in front of the Assessor's Office in Hudson City Hall in the year 2024.  I'm not sure how long the hand truck has been blocking the door, but I know for a fact that the lovely sign has been taped to the door for at least two years.  The area seems to be a dumping ground for items with nowhere else to go, like a closet or the unused bank vault 3 feet away.

I don't know what I'm more insulted by,
the lame presentation or the fact that our assessor
didn't take the time to check her spelling.
We all deserve so much better than this!  This is NOT GOOD and SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTABLE TO THE HUDSON MAYOR!

Meanwhile, after more than two months and including one extension, I'm still waiting for the Assessor's Office to send me a document which I FOILed for regarding the tax-exempt status of Galvan's large house at 61-65 North 5th Street.  I requested a required NY State tax form that SHOULD have been easy for the assessor to retrieve but appears to never have been filled out by Galvan. That form would show exactly what non-profit activity is going on inside the house to allow it to be one hundred percent exempt from property taxes. The attractive house, owned by the Galvan Initiatives Fund since 2012, was most recently assessed for $440,000.
Is this house and property legitimately
tax-free?

According to the director of the Columbia County Real Property Tax Service Agency, there is no reason that the actual form I requested should not be in the file for the property at the Assessor's Office.  All tax-exempt property owners are supposed to have filled out the form prior to the granting of tax-exempt status (the form is part of the process!!!) and the form is to remain in the possession of the Assessor's Office. The director also told me that the Hudson City Assessor can require a property owner to fill out the form if, for whatever reason, there is not one on file. Also, every tax-exempt property owner is required to fill out an annual renewal form indicating whether or not the non-profit activity indicated on the original form has changed (that activity is not indicated on the renewal form). Our Assessor's Office has at least one annual renewal form in the file for 61-65 North 5th Street but lacks the ORIGINAL FORM which that renewal form refers to. Renewal form(s), yes. Original form, no.

Talk about suspicious and worrying!  When HUDseen gets word on the missing required form, readers will be the first to know about it.
