A City Hall Uninterested In Its Taxpayers, Failing At Basic Communication

I recently heard from a reliable source at City Hall that communication from DPW Superintendent Rob The Slob Perry to the Mayor's Office is practically non-existent.  This news didn't surprise me one bit.  As soon as Kamal Johnson arrived in City Hall 5 years ago, Perry essentially removed himself from 520 Warren and settled at the top of Rossman Avenue behind barbed wire fencing.  Perhaps our DPW Superintendent is uncomfortable being near, and communicating with, black people.  Perhaps, at the same time, Kamal has difficulty dealing with Rob and other white people.  It's difficult to say if any of that is true, but something really, really weird and concerning is going on between these two city officials. Whatever it is, it's not good for the future of this city or for anyone trying to make Hudson their home.

Will someone please write and record a song
titled 18 WHEELS AND 5 TONS OF COKE
(RUNNIN' THROUGH HUDSON AGAIN)!

18 WHEELS AND 40 TONS OF STONE
(RUNNIN' THROUGH HUDSON AGAIN)!

What should come as no surprise to anyone is the inability and/or uninterest from Rob Perry and Kamal Johnson to post an announcement on the city's website ahead of this week's closure of two long blocks of the truck route so that DPW could get at a pipe or two below the 400 block of Columbia Street near TSL (excavating there yet again -- below the truck route!!!!).  Orange signs stapled with paper reading NO PARKING 8/24-8/28 appeared last Thursday on North 3rd, 4th and 6th, as well as on State near 6th and near 3rd, in preparation of allowing space for turning trucks on a rerouted truck route, so it's not like the city (Perry and Johnson, primarily) didn't have plenty of time LAST WEEK to be sure to post a helpful and useful announcement in the ANNOUNCEMENTS section of its website.  But why the fuck bother letting any city residents or business owners know why there is no parking allowed on certain streets for an entire week, why Columbia Street will be closed to all traffic, and why so much truck traffic is now seen and heard on State Street and on side streets, possibly FOR 5 CONSECUTIVE DAYS?  Would this be considered important enough information that residents and taxpayers would expect their "leaders" to provide them with?  NOT IN HUDSON, BUDDY!  WHY WOULD ANYONE CARE TO BE WARNED ABOUT MAJOR TRAFFIC DISRUPTIONS, UNAVAVBILABLE PARKING OPPORTUNITES AND UNWELCOME NOISE FROM ENORMOUS TRUCKS FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK?

Another (Colarusso) truck headed to
State Street...

... And a Colarusso truck leaving State

Hudson City Hall continues to impress, doesn't it?  That Kamal Johnson creep and his nowhere-to-be-found DPW Superintendent really run a tight ship, don't they?

The constant beating that tractor trailers inflict on infrastructure
below Columbia Street, especially along the downhill near TSL,
probably caused whatever problem DPW is investigating and
repairing this week. Colarusso's obscenely heavy loads inflict
the most damage.

This morning at 8:00, DPW (with 7 or 8 employees at the site) was already well into their excavation and examination of the issue(s) below the truck route.  By 10:15, the well predicted cold rain had begun.  Great time to be digging up the truck route.  Again.

A City Hall unable to communicate at the most basic levels is a HUGE RED FLAG INDICATING THAT THERE ARE SERIOUS SYSTEMIC ISSUES THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED (AND PROBABLY PEOPLE THAT NEED TO BE SHOWN THE DOOR).  IT'S LIKE A MALIGNANT TUMOR(S) OR INFECTION(S).  LEAVE THEM ALONE AND THE BODY EVENTUALLY CEASES TO FUNCTION, SOMETIMES SLOWLY, SOMETIMES QUICKLY, BUT OFTEN IN VERY DIFFICULT, UGLY AND PAINFUL WAYS.
