Here is an almost complete eight-day chronicle showing the typical unwelcome garbage situation behind 602 Warren Street. It proves that Hudson City Hall (primarily DPW and Code Enforcement) wastes money and doesn't really care about code violations or any of its residents and visitors. It's textbook stuff on how not to run a city properly.
The series of pictures begins on Monday, April 28th in Prison Alley at North 6th Street soon after DPW removed all the trash (bagged and loose) that had been on top of and surrounding the sewer drain next to an unlocked trash dumpster.

Tuesday, loose recycling out on top of the drain once again. It is a code violation to not put recycling in a container (can you guess why?) |

Thursday 7 pm, with recycling removed, 2 blue city trash bags out 4 days too early. Code violation. |
I didn't make it to 6th & Prison alley on Friday, but I did notice these three blue city bags out at the curb of the 600 block of State Street, waiting to be picked by DPW in 4 days:

Yet another code violation and ugly sight, this one ALONG THE SIDEWALK AND A PARKING SPACE! |

Saturday, May 3rd, two feet from the sidewalk and during the farmers market across the alley 30 feet away. Still 3 days until DPW pickup. Code violation. |

Sunday 5 pm, now with at least two bags of trash not in city blue bags. Code violation. Recycling out 3 days too early. Code violation! |

Monday, May 5th, 2 pm. Two bags of trash not in city blue bags (at front left) still next to unlocked dumpster. One pile of waste inches from the sidewalk containing three separate code violations. |

Monday 8 pm, the night before scheduled pickup of city blue bags, at least two of which are buried out of sight. Sewer drain also completely out of sight. |

This morning, Tuesday, May 6, soon after the DPW trash crew removed everything, just as they did 8 days prior. Nothing but the city blue bags should have been removed. What code violations? |
At the same time, back over on State Street 4 days later, early on pickup day, the three city blue bags were still being ignored by Code Enforcement and waiting patiently at the curb to be picked up by DPW. Two more bags had been added at some point:

The small black bin also had not moved in 4 days, now with 1 or 2 inches of rain in it. |
Guess who owns 602 Warren Street, behind which garbage is always on the ground to appreciate, covering the sewer drain and adjacent to an unlocked dumpster in Prison Alley? No, it's not Galvan! The owner happens to be local real estate tycoon, non-Hudson resident, former appointed Hudson City Judge, and current elected Columbia County Judge Brian J. Herman. How would one go about issuing code violation tickets to a judge anyway? Why even bother? Well, it sure would be interesting if it were to happen! If the city were to issue Herman a violation ticket or three for not following the city code as it relates to garbage and recycling behind his property, our County Judge would have to appear in his old court in front of City Judge John Connor or City Judge Cheryl Roberts to pay his tickets or have them expunged. Now that I would pay admission for!
