He Thinks Speeding Cars and Trucks Are Hilarious! And He Thinks HE'S So Amusing And Clever!

During his DPW report to the Common Council and the public earlier this month while, of course, only his voice was on Zoom, Rob Perry added a quick but very revealing comment to his announcement that Luizzi's repaving of Worth Avenue "was officially complete and open to traffic" that day.  This was the same report, at least for the first twenty seconds, in which he sounded as if he may have been inebriated, possibly, for all anyone knew, while on the couch in the living room of his house.  In his typical mocking, snot-nosed tone, here is the comment Perry felt he needed to offer:

"If HPD are listening, get ready!  The raceway is definitely open."

Do you suppose our DPW Superintendent's maturity level is beyond that of a well-adjusted 10-year-old?

What do you suppose was going through Rob's mind when the comment first came to him? Was it, "Yes, that is something I need to add.  It'll be hilarious!"?

The new (this year) broken yellow line signifies
it is okay to pass.  On Worth Avenue?
Did Perry request the line of Luizzi?

Are you beginning to make the connections as to why we have a speeding and dangerous driving problem on all of our streets, not just on Worth Avenue?  Our DPW Superintendent feels like the dead serious issue of speeding and dangerous vehicles is worthy of mocking and jokes, an issue he has no interest in solving, let alone allowing his department to be associated or concerned with the issue.  Rob Perry made this clear on May 12th, out loud to the Common Council and to every resident of Hudson whether they were listening or not.

Equally appalling, perhaps, was the complete silence from every Council member immediately following Perry's obscene and gratuitous comment.  Not one member, including the person supposedly in charge of the meeting, Tom Depietro, told our $123,000 Superintendent to keep his snide, disrespectful and childish commentary, and so-called jokes, to himself and to behave like an adult during meetings.  No, from this council we continue to get nothing much at all but, at best, amateurism, paving the way for Rob Perry to say whatever the hell he pleases, no matter how inappropriate or uncalled for.  It's nothing short of obscene and embarrassing.
