Above is two seconds of video, taken this morning, of a DPW vehicle as it hits DPW's own damaged and ignored street repaving where the drop is at least 4 inches for everyone headed west. (Turn your volume all the way up to get a real sense of the beating vehicles are taking!) Some cars and truck drivers do their best to avoid the trouble by coming nearly to a stop before rolling slowly over the eroded patch, though their vehicles are still shaken quite well. Some drivers swerve to the left or right when it is possible and "safe" to do so. Others, some who are new to the gift from DPW, hit the sunken patch at 20 or 30 mph and regret it. Some flinch, some don't. And it's really a sight to see and hear when an 18 or 20-wheeler hits it, no matter their speed! Every suspension that shakes is damaged slightly because of DPW's lack of attention, and some cars passing over literally sound as if they are going to fall apart right then and there. It's been bad, and worsening, for weeks, but why should Rob Perry care, even if there is an "accident" or three? He revels in his nasty "I don't f'n care" attitude as if he is some sort of rebel.

The DPW Gift That Keeps On Giving (Even To Themselves)
This morning in the lower 500 block of State Street, I noticed a pair of DPW workers using a pavement saw to cut a rectangular hole in the sidewalk for a planned sidewalk tree. Apparently, they didn't have time today to attend to the horribly damaged concrete patch job that DPW put down one block away on the truck route four weeks ago. Nor did they last week or the week prior. It's as if Rob Perry doesn't give a shit how bad that portion of street becomes or how dangerous it is to everyone passing over and around it.
