This morning at 7th & Warren, I watched for more than five minutes as three DPW workers, two HPD detectives and one cop removed three incredibly heavy metal street barriers from a special hydraulic trailer (likely rented) attached to a DPW pickup truck that was completely and unnecessarily blocking the crosswalk area.
The DPW pickup and special trailer then moved on to another corner to drop off more of the street barriers, apparently provided to us by Homeland Security.

How many more of these will be utilized today? |

Who owns these and where did they arrive from? |
I asked one of the detectives if he was on duty. He said that he was. "Cops doing manual labor with DPW?" I asked
"Yup," he responded. "We do it all."
If one of those HPD employees (or two of them!) was to injure himself lifting and moving a piece of metal that probably weighs a half ton, Mishanda Franklin might have some explaining to do. And, of course, the several massive Homeland Security barriers will have to be put back on the special hydraulic trailer sometime later today. Will our police force be doing all that work, too, just as they were this morning?
Are Colarusso and Galvan paying for all of this?
