Dear Rob Perry: Are You Hoping Kamal Johnson Remains Your "Boss" For At Least Another Two Years? Will You Be Voting for Him?

This was the scene in the 500 block of Rope Alley, near Dodge Street, one week ago, on Friday, October 24th, three days after and four days prior to garbage collection by DPW.  This location has previously been featured on HUDseen, showing the disregard at least one resident has for the city code (and DPW rules) related to garbage and recycling, as well as how Rob Perry doesn't give a shit about any of it.

This was the scene yesterday, 6 days later and 2 days after DPW garbage collection on the city's north side.  While DPW did remove the 3 blue bags (and any more that may have shown up), they disregarded the (now empty) white bag of trash and all the trash strewn around the bags they came upon.  And not one of the sanitation crew members reached out to Craig Haigh or Rob Perry to inform them of the code violation mess they had been stepping on in Rope Alley, likely for the umpteenth time.

They didn't do anything to prevent this from happening again, nor have they ever made such an effort there or anywhere else in the city where the same obscene situations occur.  Because, simply, it doesn't fucking matter to Rob Perry or Craig Haigh what day of the week residents put out their trash, what type of bag the trash is in, how many of the bags are torn into by vermin or how much trash gets strewn around thanks to vermin and the wind.  Neither of these city officials cares much, if at all, about the city code related to garbage (or DPW garbage and recycling rules), what our alleys look like, how much litter is in the city or quality of life issues great and small.  Rob Perry, Craig Haigh and Kamal Johnson simply don't want to know about any of it.  Ignored (even encouraged) trash in the alleys or elsewhere does not affect them; it does not affect their employment by the city.  They could do something about it, but they choose not to!

I have no doubt that if asked by a council member about the issue of garbage bags being put out too early for pickup and the ensuing issue of litter, vermin, etc., Rob Perry would glibly reply with his trademark dismissiveness, hyperbole and bullshit, "There's nothing DPW can do about it.  It's not our problem -- residents choose to do this.  Last I checked, DPW does not handle squirrel and skunk control.  You don't want us cleaning up every mess residents make, picking up every piece of litter they leave for us, do you?  If that's what you want, we will need more money to do it.  It's up to you.  Fund us so that we can be the city's maid service every day of the week patrolling the alleys."

This bullshit irresponsibility, sloppiness and negligence can't be acceptable in the year 2025.  Unfortunately, for Kamal Johnson and many working for him, it is.  All the fucking time!

Mr. Perry:  Are you hoping Kamal Johnson gets reelected so that you can continue to be a slob who gets paid over $125,000 a year?
