Two months ago, on August 12th, HUDseen reported on the cracked condition of the concrete sidewalks along the very new Ferry Street bridge that was built by Colarusso & Sons. The concrete pad with the most conspicuous crack was located near Front Street (unlike the pads above the tracks, this pad had just one crack). That pad and that crack are still there (as are all the others above the tracks), but a new crack has sprouted to join the original perpendicularly. This one makes it nearly all the way across the width of the pad. (I haven't measured the width of those sidewalks along the bridge, but they appear to be at least 5 feet wide!)

Who will pay to replace this concrete pad, who will
do the work, and when will it be done?
How much money has Paul Colarusso (or anyone related to his business) donated to Kamal Johnson's effort to remain in City Hall doing nothing? Isn't Kamal Johnson DPW Superintendent Rob Perry's boss, at least on paper? During his DPW report to the Common Council in August when he gave an update on the completion of the bridge, didn't our DPW Superintendent say (along with pictures of the completed bridge) that "there might be some minor punch list items," presumably referring to "items"/issues that Colarusso would have to tend to before the job was truly completed and without flaws and they could be paid for their work? (Perry failed to mention the cracked sidewalks or show pictures of them, even though he likely walked the entirety of the sidewalks to get his pictures of the bridge AND PERFORM HIS DETAILED INSPECTION, including of the sidewalks.) Perry mentioned nothing about the bridge at last month's meeting because he didn't show up to give a report. Maybe tomorrow we'll hear from Mr. Perry about the worsening cracked sidewalks along the bridge and what he is planning on Colarusso doing about them, if anything.
Ideal weather conditions for pouring concrete this year are coming to an end soon if they haven't already arrived. When do you suppose the warranty on Colarusso's Ferry Street bridge concrete sidewalks expires?
One wonders what, if anything, the city's Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer Heather Campbell, would have to say about this on-going and worsening sidewalk situation/"item". Can we call cracked sidewalks an "item"? What the hell is an item in this context?
