The Uglification of Downtown Hudson Continues (Thanks to the County This Time)!

A day or two ago, three large, 3-color, 51-word signs appeared in and alongside the County-owned parking lot at 6th & Columbia.  The one facing the sidewalk is obscene.  Who is its target audience?  Could it be drivers stopped in the street with a pair of binoculars when no parked car is in the way of the view of the sign?  Could it be drivers stopped on the sidewalk?  Pedestrians?  Nearby residents?  Local Italians?

Who is going to tell Matt Murell to remove that sign?  County Supervisors Linda Mussman and Sonja Okun?  3rd ward city council members Jason Foster and Lola what's-her-name?  How about Joe Ferris?  Ha!

Our mayor will become very familiar with that sign for the next two years or more.  It's difficult not to see it while walking by, isn't it?  And maybe that was the point:  Everyone should be forced to see the sign (even though few need to read its 51 words)!

Did the County apply for a sign permit from Hudson Code Enforcement for that sign on the fence facing the sidewalk?  Or can the County do whatever they like with signs on their property in downtown Hudson?  What next?  What ugly unwelcome sign will next appear without any awareness of or approval from the people who actually live here?

Let's hope at least one of these lovely signs appears along the sidewalk in front of 11 Warren Street soon! Why the hell not? Make it two or three of them, please! Make your point LOUD AND CLEAR so that absolutely no one is confused, why don't you!  HUDSON NEEDS MORE PARKING SIGNS!  PLEASE, PEOPLE, WE HAVE A PAUCITY OF PARKING SIGNS!
