LUIZZI's BACK, BABAY!

The decorative stupidity that arrived on all 4 corners of 2nd & Warren last year as part of the DRI project were ripped out of the ground this morning by Luizzi, the contractor who installed the ugly and dangerous paver stones there in the first place.  Pedestrians in all directions were being forced off of closed sidewalks and into the street, just as last year about this time.

How long this will take and what will be going into those freshly dug holes I cannot say, though it should be concrete and nothing else.  Maybe we'll find out tomorrow.

The Luizzi worker I spoke with briefly this morning said, "This never should have been done.  It was stupid."  He also referred to Hudson as a "shithole."  We obviously chose the right people for the job and the redo.

Plenty of their stone pavers remain on Front Street and a few at 1st & Warren as well.  Whose idea was this anyway?  And who at City Hall signed off on it?  Rob Perry?  Kamal Johnson? Tom Depietro?  All three of them?
