The State of State? Not So Good!

About a week ago, I had the misfortune of finding myself walking on the odd side of the 300 block of State Street.  (Note to self:  If possible, avoid in the future!)  The word obscene came to mind.  These 5 pictures show the last stretch approaching 3rd.

You know, this section is so bad, so ridiculous, so neglected, and so narrow that it just might deter e-scooter and e-bike riders from using the sidewalk!  That's reason enough to not fix any of our sidewalks, isn't it?!

A city that isn't walkable -- in combination with a City Hall that makes no effort to make it more walkable and pleasant -- has no future.

New trees!  Soon to be in your face! Or at least in your way!  Did the property owner install what are considered to be good sidewalk trees?  Did they consult with anyone from City Hall or the CAC before they chose their trees and before installing them?  Or did they do what they felt was most appropriate, perhaps cheapest?  Does the city have any guidelines or rules regarding the installation of sidewalk trees?  Why do I think the answer is no?

Almost there!
