Don't Be Fooled By The News or The Rumors! Business Is Up All Over Hudson! Way Up! Higher and Higher! Too High To Come Down! Rejoice, People! Rejoice!!!

Business is even booming on Green Street! Along the truck route and on the way out of town, no less!

Who knew that business is way up even on South 6th Street?!  Where will everyone park?

Business is at an all-time high on South Front, too!  

Like vultures circling a dying animal!

Businesses have been especially killin' it on South 3rd since late last year!  One after the other they keep coming, welcoming everyone to Hudson!  Stay a while, we've got the JUNK you need!  We're all JUNKIES here!

Hell, things are even looking up on little Broad Street!  What's that, you didn't know a Broad Street existed in Hudson?  YES, PEOPLE, BROAD STREET -- ALL 200 FEET OF IT!  BROAD STREET, WHERE THE GRAVEL TRUCKS AND TRAINS RULE.  Hell, business is so good on Broad Street that maybe we don't need the Hudson Brewery to relocate there after all!

Ending on even more positive note, we can all be thankful that there aren't any wooden utility poles along all of Warren Street, our main commercial thoroughfare, where business is not doing as well as the rest of the city.  No wooden poles means no reminders that the city is in some sort of death spiral thanks to plastic signs high overhead (out of reach!) from businesses outside of town that prominently feature the word JUNK.  There are plenty of vacant storefronts to be seen up and down Warren -- some with orange cone reminders saying, "Look at me, I'm an eyesore!" -- but thankfully there are no JUNK signs for anyone, including Nick Fox and Henry Haddad, to be bothered by!

We all deserve so much better.

It should be noted that the issue of the proliferation of the unwelcome (mostly) JUNK BUSINESS signs first came to head CEO officer Nick Fox's attention during the only Code & Infrastructure meeting he has ever attended or will attend, on May 11th.  4 months ago, Nick told Henry Haddad that he would "call some numbers" (or was it "take down some numbers"?) to begin his task of getting the unwanted signs off of National Grid's poles.  (I hope that is the dumbest thing you read all day!)  Alas, nothing came of that effort even if one phone number found on a business sign high up on a utility pole was dialed.  Then, two or three weeks ago, with the word out that Hudson's Code Enforcement Department is short-staffed and the so-called Code & Infrastructure Committee no longer features anyone associated with the short-staffed Code Enforcement Department, a new (to us) JUNK BUSINESS decided that, with the help of a ladder, National Grid's utility poles in Hudson were the perfect place for them to advertise their JUNK REMOVAL services via their yellow plastic signs.

Re-fucking- joice!

Last Friday -- one week ago on August 28th -- I received an automatic email reply from Nick Fox at the Code Enforcement Department.  Here is exactly what he wrote: 

I will be out of the office starting 8/28/25 at 12:30pm and returning 9/2/25 8am.

Earlier this morning, two days after the head of the Code Enforcement Department was scheduled to return to work after a two-and-a-half workday absence, I got another automatic email reply from him.  Here is exactly what he wrote (notice that it does not indicate the start of his subsequent absence, just the end):  

I will be out of the office until 9/8/25 at 8am.  Thank you for your patience.

(9/8/25 was one week after last year's Labor Day.  9/8/26 will be one day after this coming Monday's Labor Day!)

Holy Brain Fog, Batman!  Wasn't Nick Fox hired early this year, the year of 2026 that began over 8 months ago?   What is the statute of limitations for not knowing that most of humanity has made it to a new year?  Isn't it just a month or two?  Isn't that the general unwritten rule?  Isn't failing to abide by that rule a violation of some sort, Batman?
