Talk about a disaster in the making!
At the 2nd Street intersection of the west end delivery extension of the truck route along Columbia Street, there is not one posted sign to prevent trucks of all sizes, lengths, shapes, weights, and number of wheels from turning onto 2nd Street toward the city's second steepest hill. At that intersection, all trucks and tractor trailers are supposed to continue forward to Front Street, remaining on the (delivery) truck route. No delivery trucks are supposed to be turning onto 2nd, certainly not tractor trailers trying to get to Dock Street or, as is more common, to the 2nd Steet extension at the bottom of the hill headed to Ferments and, at the end, Harney Teas. But how would any truck drivers know to stay off of 2nd Street, especially those just following the directions on their GPS? And so, as if the city is encouraging the danger and stupidity that truck drivers may not know they are headed toward, trucks and tractor trailers of all sizes head down the long and steep 2nd Street hill ALL THE TIME without ever being bothered by the Hudson police. Many head back up, too. The driver of this grain (?) truck/tractor trailer knew exactly where he was going, as if he'd taken that route several times before, perhaps daily. He turned off of the truck route without hesitation and headed down the hill way too fast. Where was he headed in such a hurry?

The UPS TRUCK had just come up the hill, where the same small NO TRUCKS sign is at the bottom. Doesn't the image of the truck on the sign look exactly like the UPS TRUCK but in black?
Can you imagine living at one of the three houses at the bottom of this hill? Is there something called Bottom Of The Hill Tractor Trailer Traumatic Stress Disorder, aka, BOTHTTTSD?
