One Month Later

Hudseen's second ever post, made just over a month ago, featured this parking meter located in the City Hall Municipal Parking Lot.  Today's picture is similar to the original one since not much has changed in a month.  Furthermore, the meter has been out of service for several months, seemingly untouched by anyone at City Hall.  During his recent parking report presentation, the city's parking consultant did not include a picture of this meter, but he really should have.

What I did not mention or show in last month's post was the meter behind the broken, taped meter on the same pole.  That meter, while free of blue tape, had been in FAIL mode for at least 3 months.  Now it has been in FAIL mode for at least 4 months, because nothing has changed since early last month and no one from City Hall seems to have touched this meter, either.

The city employee in charge of repairing our revenue-producing meters either can't fix these 2 meters or he isn't aware of them being broken.  And a broken parking meter swathed in colored painter's tape is a perfectly acceptable look in the parking lot behind City Hall.  For months, perhaps a year or more.
