Superior To Whom?

This morning I noticed an unfamiliar name on a garbage truck doing its work on South 7th Street.  I also noticed that the operator of the truck was emptying trash and recycling receptacles with the Superior Waste logo on them into the same hopper of the truck. So I asked the garbage man if Superior Waste had changed its name to Oak Ridge Waste and Recycling.

He shook his head and said, "No, my regular truck is out.  This is a rental."

"Is that why you are emptying the recycling bins and the garbage bins into the same truck?" I asked, as the compactor crushed everything together.

He looked at me and nodded his head, then resumed his work, treating all the recycling receptacles as if they were full of garbage.

One wonders where one rents a garbage truck from.  Can anyone rent a garbage truck?  Other questions come to mind, too, such as:  For how long has Superior Waste been renting this truck and for how much longer do they plan on using it, unable to separate the recycling from the garbage?

All licensed waste haulers must have a DPW permit on the windshield of each truck they use in the City of Hudson.  Superior is a licensed hauler in 2023.

Superior Waste is based across the river in Cairo.  Oak Ridge Waste is based in Danbury, Connecticut.
