Just In Time!

A certain regular of the 7th Street Park was recently released form the Columbia County jail, and just in time for the warm weather.

He tends to attract other like-minded people to the park who are all, no doubt, happy to have him back.   At noon today, a Saturday, I called HPD to let them know that there was a 6 or 7-person beer and cigarette (and possibly more) party going on in the park.  I also watched one of the revelers run across Park Place to relieve himself in the alley.  Within 5 minutes, two HPD officers in separate vehicles arrived on the scene to break up the party.  No violation tickets were issued.

I'm still trying to figure out whether HPD isn't able to do regular foot patrols through the troubled 7th Street Park or if they just aren't interested in doing them.  And I'm thinking that a certain someone can't wait for the half million dollar improvements to finally come to the park.
