How Badly Does Our DPW Superintendent Not Want To Be Contacted By The Public? You Have No Idea! (But This Might Help)

Readers may recall a HUDseen article from three weeks ago which disclosed the phone number to the cellphone Rob Perry uses for DPW business which may also be his personal phone.  HUDseen happened across Perry's number on a new page on National Grid's website -- titled Streetlight Municipal Directory -- which National Grid did not inform our DPW Superintendent of and he obviously had no idea existed.

Three weeks ago.

I figured that if our DPW Superintendent got wind of that HUDseen article, he would immediately pick up the phone (after cursing out loud) and call his contact at National Grid to get that phone number changed immediately.

It turns out that I was right.  Yet again!

Perry must be a HUDseen reader, because his name and cellphone number are no longer found on National Grid's Streetlight Municipal Directory (yes, he even got his name removed!).  Upon learning of the indignity of having his name and direct phone number on a public list meant for Hudson residents to call, our $123,000 public servant got the necessary changes made to keep himself as inaccessible and unaccountable as possible.  Thank goodness he corrected things!  Order has been restored!  Perry slips away again!

Corrected! Updated! Whitewashed!  New phone number, no name.
Do you suppose Zach Baxter at the City of Amsterdam is happy to have
his name and number on National Grid's directory?

If you call the general DPW phone number that replaced the number our DPW Superintendent doesn't want anyone to know about, it is not possible to reach Rob Perry, let alone leave a voicemail message for him.  Don't believe me?  Go ahead, dial the number to the DPW offices on the second floor of City Hall where Mr. Perry can never be found and see if you can leave him a voicemail message or talk to him!

My guess is that if Perry were offered a cellphone for DPW business use only, he would refuse it.  Why?  Because that number would have to be easily accessible to the public and able to be dialed by anyone, and he is certainly not interested in any such thing!

How fucked up can a city be?  How nasty can a city official be?

In case you've misplaced our $123,000 DPW Superintendent's direct phone number since HUDseen published it three weeks ago, here it is again:

518-965-5235.   Call him if you have an issue you think he might want to know about or be able to take care of.

Don't worry, though, Rob won't answer the phone.  It will ring once, or not at all, and quickly go to his outgoing message:  HI, THIS IS ROB PERRY.  AT THE TONE, PLEASE LEAVE YOUR NAME, NUMBER AND A BRIEF MESSAGE. THANKS.  Nothing identifies that person as being a City of Hudson public servant.  After several attempts to reach Rob by leaving messages at this number over the past 3 weeks, he has yet to call me back.  Maybe he will feel the need to call you back if you leave him a message.  Don't count on it, though!  HE DON'T WANNA BE F'N BOTHERED BY YOU OR ANYONE ELSE WHO HELPS PAY HIS SALARY OF $123,000.
