When Will It Need To Be Repaired Next?

Of the 6 or 7 car crashes in the past 10 years at the dangerous intersection of Columbia & 6th that I have seen the results of -- all of which involved someone running a red light -- 3 of them involved a car hitting the same wall of the house at the northeast corner.  The most recent crash there (at least that I am aware of) occurred on the morning of June 12th; I was the second person on the scene.  Just today that wall was repaired.  Yet again.

The often-impacted wall of 602 Columbia,
repaired once again.  They should paint a
bullseye on it this time.

What was the most fucked up thing about this crash (and please do
not refer to it as "an accident")?  The grey car on the left was
PARKED, and I have no doubt that it too was totaled.  The white
car had the green, but the black car did not.  No brakes, no skid
marks, no horns.  Just no-warning impact at 25 or 30 miles per hour
at a blind corner that the city would rather ignore and do nothing about.

Two weekends ago (and two weeks following the crash), I noticed that a female tenant at 602 Columbia was having a stoop sale.  She finished her sale, left her unsold things outside in a box and, it appears, got the hell out of Hudson. Can you blame her?

Notice in the lead picture how there is not one bit of white paint on the pavement of the entire intersection.  No stop lines, no crosswalks, no nothing!   Just the way Rob Perry prefers it.  But, hey, at least DPW was able to paint their water valve blue.  Thank goodness for that!
