Rats Need To Eat, Too, You Know!

If either Rob Perry or Craig Haigh has ever once issued a code violation ticket to anyone for putting out a full blue city garbage bag too early for removal by DPW - in an alley or at a street curb -- I will eat my favorite winter wool cap.

The lead picture was taken yesterday morning in Prison Alley, two full days before scheduled DPW garbage removal.  It's difficult to know when the bag was put out, but it and its mess will be there all day today.  Maybe DPW will clean up the mess when they arrive tomorrow morning.

On a recent Sunday, just the type of quality-
of-life issue the city code is meant to prevent.
Not Code Enforcement, mind you, just the code!
The following pictures were taken on days anywhere from 2 to 6 days prior to scheduled DPW garbage removal. It isn't uncommon for blue bags full of garbage to appear (primarily in our alleys) even one day after DPW removal, which is 6 days prior to the next scheduled removal day. There is obviously no enforcement of the code in this regard, and there probably never has been. Why would there be? Rats, squirrels and skunks need to eat, too!
Wednesday, October 1st, one day after
DPW removal and 6 before next removal.
Same location as lead picture.

Would informing the Columbia County
Health Department do any good?  Would
they talk with Rob Perry about the DAILY
unsanitary conditions in our alleys which
 he allows AND ENCOURAGES?

By not enforcing the code, the city just
encourages people to do this, who in turn
encourage others to do it.

Signs of a city in decline!

No one at DPW, CEO or in the Mayor's Office
cares about any of this.
