Maybe Someone Will Magically Appear. Like Superman, Perhaps?

The City of Hudson has been without a DPW Commissioner for over 3 months since Peter Bujanow (and Kamal Johnson?) left the position vacant.

At about the same time, City Hall finally (!!!) created a page on its website listing employment and volunteer opportunities at 520 Warren Street. (Welcome to the 21st century!)

Today on that JOB AND VOLUNTEER POSTINGS FROM THE CITY OF HUDSON page, there is still no mention of the vacant DPW Commissioner position needing to be filled.

As I pointed out a few days ago, the city is required to have a DPW Commissioner be part of the 5-member Public Works Board that will work on the Sidewalk Improvement District to tackle the formidable task of fixing our sidewalks.

There is a Public Works Board volunteer opportunity listed on the page which says that the city is "looking for two members of Hudson community for sidewalk improvement district oversight."   Those two positions are also required for the Public Works Board.

No DPW Commissioner, no Sidewalk Improvement District.  No Sidewalk Improvement District, no unsafe sidewalks made safe.  Why would the city bother to advertise to fill the vacant DPW Commissioner's position?  It's so much easier to ignore the sidewalks and to hope someone just magically appears, isn't it?
